HONG KONG - Asian stocks fell more than 1 percent on Monday, with regional shares outside Japan hitting a 1-month low, as investors feared rising inflation and sluggish US economic growth would seriously dent consumer demand.

US stocks last week chalked up their biggest decline in three months as oil prices rocketed to record highs, heightening concern about company earnings for the second quarter.

By the midsession, Japan’s Nikkei share average tumbled 2.2 percent, set for the largest single-day decline in six weeks, led lower by exporters such as Canon Inc and clothing firm Fast Retailing Co Ltd

South Korea’s KOSPI slid 1.7 percent to the lowest since April 24. Shares of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, the world’s second-largest mobile phone maker, were the biggest drag on the index amid talk that Nokia may cut prices and re-enter the South Korean market.

Palo, Leyte - The Department of Education’s (DepEd) regional office has expressed confidence that Eastern Visayas is ready for the opening of classes this June despite the perennial problem of shortages in classrooms and textbooks.

Dr. Rebecca Ragrag, DepEd regional information officer, said that while local government units and even some non-government organizations provide help to some schools by donating funds for additional buildings, school heads have also found ways to continue to hold classes.

Ragrag added that this is also true to schools in Samar which have been hit by floods early this year.

"Our dedication to our job tells us that we cannot wait for national funding or any help from outside because they are often hard to rely on. All over the country, there is the need for classrooms and books. So here, we do whatever we can so that we can still cater to the needs of our learners," said Ragrag.

Well today one of our laboratory now consisit of flat screen. We change all the old monitor and change it with the new flat screen. It is really so nice to see the laborato ry that all the screen of the computer are all flat srceen but some laboratory are not. May be after one year or two year because as we all know flat screen monitor are all expensive not like those common desltop monitor that we are using in our home and offices.

Well I really made to pass my midterm exam and especially I made to pass my subject in midterm with the average of 82% I am not really expecting that I can get a grade like this in my midterm exam because just like what I had said already I don’t have the circuit subject so that it is not so easy for me to catch up in our class because I don’t know what kind of circuit is that?, what is its use?, what is flip flops and etc. So thats why when I saw my grade I really say to my self "Is it true that it is my grade?" even my professor I told him "Sir is it true that this is my grade?" and he said "Yes.". Well i really brought a new battery for my cellphone because every time that I am going to bring it into the school ti really give me madness especially when I have an important person to contact. Because as after 2 hour you used it all of its battery will be empty, so thats why I brought another battery in order for me to communicate to other especially when there is really a problem and emergency. Well just like now I can text and call my friends no matter how long, beucase now my battery in is in right condition.
