Athena

Daughter of Zeus, and only by him, the Goddess Athena was not generated by any woman. She leaped from the head of Zeus, already adult, dressed with her armor.
But the mother is not completely missing from the miraculous birth of Pallas Athena. According to Hesiod’s account of the weddings of Zeus, the King of the Gods chose Metis as his first wife. She was of all beings "the most knowing" (as the word metis is interpreted), or "of many counsels" as translated in the sense of the Homeric epithet polymetis.
As she was about to give birth to the Goddess Athena, Zeus deceived his pregnant wife with cunning words and assimilated her into his own body. Mother Earth and Father Sky had advised him to do this so as to prevent any of his descendants from robbing him of his kingly rank. For it was destined that the most brilliant children were to be born to the Goddess Metis: first, the daughter Athena, and later a son, the future King of Gods and men.
In the most ancient account, the Iliad, Athena is the Goddess of ferocious and implacable fight, but, wherever she can be found, she only is a warrior to defend the State and the native land against the enemies coming from outside.
She is, above all, the Goddess of the City, the protectress of civilized life, of artesian activities, and of agriculture. She also invented the horse-bit, which, for the first time, tamed horses, allowing men to use them.
She is the favorite daughter of Zeus; and that’s why he let her use his insignia: the terrible shield, the aegis and his devastating weapon, the ray.
The most used expression to describe her is "the bright eyed". She is the first of the three virgin Goddesses, also known as Maiden, Parthenos, and from this name was taken the name to the most important Temple dedicated to her, the Parthenon.
In poetry she is the incarnation of Wisdom, Reason and Purity.
Athens is her city; the olive tree, created by her, is her tree; the owl, is the birth consecrated to her.

Its All Coming Back To Me Now

There were nights when the wind was so cold
That my body froze in bed
If I just listened to it
Right outside the window

There were days when the sun was so cruel
That all the tears turned to dust
And I just knew my eyes were
Drying up forever

I finished crying in the instant that you left
And I can’t remember where or when or how
And I banished every memory you and I had ever made

But when you touch me like this
And you hold me like that
I just have to admit
That it’s all coming back to me
When I touch you like this
And I hold you like that
It’s so hard to believe but
It’s all coming back to me
(It’s all coming back, it’s all coming back to me now)

There were moments of gold
And there were flashes of light
There were things I’d never do again
But then they’d always seemed right
There were nights of endless pleasure
It was more than any laws allow
Baby Baby

If I kiss you like this
And if you whisper like that
It was lost long ago
But it’s all coming back to me
If you want me like this
And if you need me like that
It was dead long ago
But it’s all coming back to me
It’s so hard to resist
And it’s all coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it’s all coming back to me now
But it’s all coming back

There were those empty threats and hollow lies
And whenever you tried to hurt me
I just hurt you even worse
And so much deeper

There were hours that just went on for days
When alone at last we’d count up all the chances
That were lost to us forever

But you were history with the slamming of the door
And I made myself so strong again somehow
And I never wasted any of my time on you since then

But if I touch you like this
And if you kiss me like that
It was so long ago
But it’s all coming back to me
If you touch me like this
And if I kiss you like that
It was gone with the wind
But it’s all coming back to me
(It’s all coming back, it’s all coming back to me now)

There were moments of gold
And there were flashes of light
There were things we’d never do again
But then they’d always seemed right
There were nights of endless pleasure
It was more than all your laws allow
Baby, Baby, Baby

When you touch me like this
And when you hold me like that
It was gone with the wind
But it’s all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
Then we see what we want to see
All coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it’s all coming back to me now

If you forgive me all this
If I forgive you all that
We forgive and forget
And it’s all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
We see just what we want to see
All coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall but it’s all coming back to me now

(It’s all coming back to me now)
And when you kiss me like this
(It’s all coming back to me now)
And when I touch you like that
(It’s all coming back to me now)
If you do it like this
(It’s all coming back to me now)
And if we, , ,

My Heart Will Go On

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you’re here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we’re one

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we’ll always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you’re here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

There is some love that will not go away

You’re here, there’s nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We’ll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Its Not Too Late

I stand alone Im just a face in the crowd
I get lonely if the truth be said
Sometimes I want to cry out loud
But I try to understand instead
I wish I had the strength inside to walk right up to you

(chorus # 1)
Its not to late to fall in love
Accept your fate Im the one youre thinking of
Its not to late so dont run away
I need you too, but its hard for me
So hard for me to say

So I listen for the perfect moment
To rush to you, but my hearts to slow
Everybody here can see me stumble
Better wait until the lights get low
I wish I had the strength inside to walk right up to you
I wouldnt have to hide behind those doubts I know are true

(chorus # 2)
Its not to late to fall in love
Accept your fate Im the only one your thinking of
Its not too late so dont run away
I need you to

But its hard for me
Yes its hard for me
Yes its hard for me
So hard for me to say

I Love You

I must be crazy now
Maybe I dream too much
But when I think of you
I long to feel your touch

To whisper in your ear
Words that are old as time
Words only you would hear
If only you were mine

I wish I could go back to the very first day I saw you
Should’ve made my move when you looked in my eyes
’cause by now I know that you’d feel the way that I do
And I’d whisper these words as you’d lie here by my side

I love you, please say
You love me too, these three words
They could change our lives forever
And I promise you that we will always be together
Till the end of time

So today, I finally find the courage deep inside
Just to walk right up to your door
But my body can’t move when I finally get to it
Just like a thousand times before

Then without a word he handed me this letter
Read I hope this finds the way into your heart, it said

I love you, please say
You love me too, these three words
They could change our lives forever
And I promise you that we will always be together
Till the end of time

Well maybe i, I need a little love yeah
And maybe i, I need a little care
And maybe i, maybe you, maybe you, maybe you
Oh you need somebody just to hold you
If you do, just reach out and I’ll be there

I love you, please say
You love me too
Please say you love me too
Till the end of time
These three words
They could change our lives forever
And I promise you that we will always be together

Oh, I love you
Please say you love me too
Please please
Say you love me too
Till the end of time
My baby
Together, together, forever
Till the end of time
I love you
I will be your light
Shining bright
Shining through your eyes
My baby

Thats the Way It Is

I can read your mind and I know your story
and I see what you’re going through yeah
It’s an uphill climb, and I’m feeling sorry
But I know it will come to you yeah

So don’t surrender coz’ you can win
In this thing called love

When you want it the most there’s no easy way out
When you’re ready to go and your heart’s left in doubt
Don’t give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that’s the way it is

When you question me for a simple answer
I don’t know what to say, no
But it’s plain to see, if we stick together
You’re gonna find the way, yeah

So don’t surrender coz’ you can win
In this thing called love

When you want it the most there’s no easy way out
When you’re ready to go and your heart’s left in doubt
Don’t give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that’s the way it is
(That’s the way it is)

When life is empty with no tomorrow
And loneliness starts to call
Baby don’t worry, forget your sorrow
‘Cause love’s gonna conquer it all, ALL!

When you want it the most there’s no easy way out
When you’re ready to go and your heart’s left in doubt
Don’t give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that’s the way it is

Don’t give up on your faith
love comes to those who believe it
and that’s the way it is.

That’s the way it is
That’s the way it is, yeah
Don’t give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that’s the way it is.

Service is the Right of All

No one has the right to hate even a single living creature. The best we can do is to serve only. We should bear in mind that every living creature verily bears the living manifestation of God. We must remember also that the credit of service is not ours, the credit is due to him, He alone who has given us the strength to serve; whose Idealism has inspired us to acquire capacity of rendering the service.

                                                                  -oOo-

Life is not analogous to a pool of muddy, stagnant water. Life resembles an ever flowing spring, pushing aside the stone of obstrustion and difficulties, while marching on with vigorous speed as its nature. Hence, it is clear that he who wants to keep away from obstacles has lost the purpose of life-verily, he is lost and dead. The graveyard, not society should not be abode.

                                                                  -oOo-

Marching together of all in unision is termed as society. Instead of despising those who have lagged behind, help them to advance. This alone will be your social DUTY!. Let us deepen our personal reflections on these point!

Leadership means Service

Sometimes I get the feeling that we are experiencing a leadership crisis among Christians. Although many people are so eager to assume the top position, but too few are so willing to accept and put into practice the biblical pattern of authority. They assumed leadership and think that leadership means absolute dominance, so they completely ignore the basic teachings of Jesus in this regard.

The pattern established by Christ for leadership int he church can be sumed up in one word: servanthood. Jesus himself exemplified this when he washed the feet of the disciple.

This willingness to serve thers and to give examples to them is a very good sign of Christianity in action. because of our willingness to take the role of servant before the eyes of men and God, it wil draw many souls to the service of God through his church as a whole.

You may be a Christian leader in your own church or in any club, and association. Show yourself that you are christian leader in action, not in words. Action speaks much louder than words. Words fly, but deeds remain and will be in the eyes and minds of those who witness you in action. " Be on the go" as leader of any group. Apply the principle of leadership in servanthood.

A leader does not begin to serve until he puts serving into his leadership.

The Colossus of Rhodes

It is one of the seven wonders of the world, it is the Colossus of Rhodes. From its building to its destruction lies a time span of merely 56 years. Yet the colossus earned a place in the famous list of Wonders. "But even lying on the ground, it is a marvel", said Pliny the Elder. The Colossus of Rhodes was not only a gigantic statue. It was rather a symbol of unity of the people who inhabited that beautiful Mediterranean island — Rhodes

And it is located at the entrance of the harbor of the Mediterranean island of Rhodes in Greece.

Throughout most of its history, ancient Greece was comprised of city-states which had limited power beyond their boundary. On the small island of Rhodes were three of these: Ialysos, Kamiros, and Lindos. In 408 BC, the cities united to form one territory, with a unified capital, Rhodes. The city thrived commercially and had strong economic ties with their main ally, Ptolemy I Soter of Egypt. In 305 BC, the Antigonids of Macedonia who were also rivals of the Ptolemies, besieged Rhodes in an attempt to break the Rhodo-Egyptian alliance. They could never penetrate the city. When a peace agreement was reached in 304 BC, the Antagonids lifted the siege, leaving a wealth of military equipment behind. To celebrate their unity, the Rhodians sold the equipment and used the money to erect an enormous statue of their sun god, Helios.

The construction of the Colossus took 12 years and was finished in 282 BC. For years, the statue stood at the harbor entrance, until a strong earthquake hit Rhodes about 226 BC. The city was badly damaged, and the Colossus was broken at its weakest point — the knee. The Rhodians received an immediate offer from Ptolemy III Eurgetes of Egypt to cover all restoration costs for the toppled monument. However, an oracle was consulted and forbade the re-erection. Ptolemy’s offer was declined.

For almost a millennium, the statue laid broken in ruins. In AD 654, the Arabs invaded Rhodes. They disassembled the remains of the broken Colossus and sold them to a Jew from Syria. It is said that the fragments had to be transported to Syria on the backs of 900 camels.

Tears in Heaven

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven
I’ll find my way, through night and day
Cause I know I just can’t stay
Here in heaven

Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knee
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please

(instrumental)

Beyond the door
There’s peace I’m sure.
And I know there’ll be no more…
Tears in heaven

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven
